Music has been apart of our lives since birth, from hearing melodies to keep us sane and calm , to helping us sleep, to make us happy and make us sad. Music has a major  impact on lives all around the world, you might be listening to the same song as someone in another country at the same time. The song ''stand by me'' by Ben E. King is more than just a song, it has a  message ; Through difficult times we must support each other and hold one another up emotionally, spiritually or psychologically. The song is one of the most emotional.


   In the video ''Stand by me playing for change'', The elements of W.o.v.e.n are used to present the message clearly and appeal to the readers. The Written element was presented by the name of each person in the caption of the video and their location showing that the song expanded and is listened to all around the world. The oral element was shown , by the instruments being used to produce background sounds.  The actual song being sung by the people ''stand by me''. The visual appeals are the different countries' environments and backgrounds being shown, from the streets and the middle of the desert. The Electronic appeal was the actual video itself and the technology shown recording the singers and their earpieces. The non-verbal element was shown by the gestures of the singers as they sang their hearts out, they were very serious and showed emotion note by note.


 The article '' What are the benefits of Music'', presents the impact of music along with interesting facts. The article states the health benefits of music, ''Music therapy reduces anxiety and physical effects of stress''. Music Improves healing, like managing parkinsons' disease and Alzheimer's disease. It also states that music improves motor function, social skills, emotions, and personal growth, Like the expression of emotional skills, making eye contact and self- esteem.Music is more than just words and a beat it affects us and helps us grow as human beings without it i have no clue where we would be today.

    African Americans have been portrayed as the lesser human being for centuries. Whether it was being denied job opportunities, lower pay, fewer benefits, slavery, being denied education and civil rights .I n order to make a change for our people we had to step up and fight going against the political norm.     A century before the first black president Barack Obama ,who was successful at winning two presidential terms. There was George Edwin Taylor. A son of a slave who was the first African American to run for president in 1909 against Theodore Roosevelt. Edwin had already been president in the National Colored men protective association and the National Negro Democratic League. Where African Americans fought against slave culture in the country. Taylor ran for office at the peak of the civil war. where there were people who were pro civil rights and not pro black president.   Black men had already got the right to vote in 1870, under the 15th amendment but Black
